celle-brating 22!

OH-MAH-GAD im SO OLD!

haha! whoot! I LOVELOVELOVE birthdays, even if nothing happens, even if i have stinky exams on that day, and even if it rains and i get wet and the exam room is so freezing-ass cold that i cant write down equations properly. (i blame the bad handwriting scribbles on the ice cold temperature) haha!

but yes, it's the one special day in my head that the day i came out and into the world, HELLO!

so thank you!!! to everyone who made my day awesome, my sister who surprised me with a cupcake late at night at 11.30, who wanted to wait till 12 but was too sleepy, everyone on facebook who left a note, I SAW YOUR MESSAGES but my internet was so crappy i couldn't reply. facebook was read-only. darn. people who smsed or called me (sorry if i didn't pick up, i missed alot of calls because i was doing last minute cramming), whatsapps, birthday cards, even people with time differences! haha! i even got serenaded by a friend, perks of having friends who are musicians HAHA! i got handmade brownies <3 and dinner with my family at a really nice steam boat place. jammed with friends post-exams, and today, I visited a school radio station and not only did someone help me carry my guitar when i got lost, they even surprised me halfway through with a cake! yup, total strangers, now friends =D thanks guys! it was a really cool gesture.

and it was nice to have some people say hi and send me well wishes, even though  I hadn't seen them in eons, like old friends, or alot of my friends from the international Miss Earth pageant in Vietnam.

birthdays are special to me cus i always seem more spaced out, i'd think about all the people randomly messaging me on this one day. and how lucky i am to have all my friends and family surrounding me.. some from afar. like my mom n dad "-_- and all my friends abroad for studies. and my sis who is finally back YAY! yet space is lessened by the internet, whatsapp. though, yeah, messages get shorter and the element of that old school style is a little lost. but people are just a tech-gadget-press-send away. its nice. =) twas a good day.

plus, having exams means the end of exams = more cellebrating! haha! can't wait. last paper tomorrow. =)

Rustic Railway station Adventure

really picturesque! so here's pics from my adventure.

but slightly spooky..

so, i went to the Fred Perry event, and my sister and I decided to explore HAHA! and camwhore.
it was nice just to have fun for a change cus i've been mugging my brains out!

teehee!

shh.dont tell anyone i was here! im supposed to be studying harhar! NOT!
such a cool place. =D very serene too, and kind of old, which is rare in Singapore. anything older than 5 years and abit dusty is considered dinosaur-aged.

FROLICK!

Citizens! and Fred Perry at TP railroad station

Hiyee! I haven't blogged about anything cus i ran out of space for pictures, and i love pictures, so i can't blog without em. what fun would that be!!! so yes, solved my problem. was just lazy to deal with it, but yes. trust me, im an engineer. (almost) haha!

So yeap, sick of studying for exams, so I snuck away to the Fred Perry birthday thingamabob jig at Tanjong Pagar Railway. I've never been there before, so it was pretty cool, felt very rustic, a little ancient.

but yeah! the event had a small flea market, with people selling knick knack taddy whacks, toys, cupcakes, and even 'fat boys' was there to sell burgers! not to mention the heineken booth.. =D

cute right!

was nice to be out in the open, instead of being shut in like i've been for the past month!
fresh air was nice =)

and "Citizens!" and "Fast Colors" played for the event! here's Fast Colors above ^^
they played poppy songs so it was nice to add to the cheerful vibe!! One of the guys was pretty funny too, so the mood was a pretty nice, happy jolly one!

the only song that stuck in my head by the Citizens! was "True Romance" which is super catchy, not to mention I've heard it before, but yeah  the running riff is cute, and the video is hilarious.

Was nice to get a nice music fix, nothing like hearing music live! haha =)

and that's not all. got caught sneaking around but that's for my next post ;)
see ya soon!

Crystal Jade Kitchen at Plaza Sing

HIYEE!! so i went to crystal jade for dinner the other day, (a friend spotted me through the glass from Itacho HARHAR *amused)
had a window seat, which was nice, since there was NO SPACE ANYWHERE!

looks pretty cramped up man! my family got a booth. but the seat space was like, as long as a chopstick (see table for reference. SO SMALL LAH) so yes, zero space. oh well.

food was good though, and came pretty fast, although the service was SHIT. so yes. not for a hot date. maybe speed dating, you're so close the next table i suppose you could just say hi.

Boy (to girl next to him) : I'm sorry do i know you?
Girl: *blushes, no leh why ah?
Boy: your chopsticks are fighting with me / your elbow keeps knocking mine.
TADAH! friends.

Beef with really nice mushrooms! I loved the mushrooms!
Shioba, roasted pork. crunchy, soft, but ICE COLD! not nice. dun get. tasty, but cold. very wierd.
pork with long beans
fish slices with cucumber and pine nuts
the fish was really soft and tasty! and the pine nuts were cute to eat.

but the portions weren't that big! that's nice though, so you can order more types of dishes. =)

and yes, the queue was for forever, so take a number, shop and come back once in awhile to check.

Oysters at Redondo Beach Pier, LA, California

One of the nights when I was visiting my parents, my dad decided to take me for a drive to Redondo Pier. It's kinda nice how the pier looks nothing like the asian piers we got, very different. =)
cute playground!
before the sunset!
boats parked all around!
the sunset! such a nice glow!
the pier even had a pretty big arcade!

aphrodisiacs! haha yes, ^^last longer. LOL

crabs and lobsters!
some wierd conch.some of them were trying to run away.eeks!
 more oysters! various kinds!

ordered a few and a guy shucked them on the spot. when i squeezed lime on one of em, it kind of squirmed, i was so grossed out. but it looked too yummy so i ATE IT LIVE! and it was MAGNIFICENT! hahaha

definitely a must-try if ure in LA! and the pier is too pretty to miss!

the beach at night =)
